We’re Hiring for Alt Text Writer – Accessibility!
Are you passionate about accessibility and inclusive content? We’re looking for detail-oriented alt text writers to join our team and help make digital content accessible to everyone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and review alt text for images across varying levels of complexity.
- Identify decorative vs. meaningful images based on accessibility guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 and accessibility best practices.
- Create concise, accurate, and contextually relevant image descriptions.
- Review and improve existing alt text for quality and compliance.
- Provide extended descriptions for complex visuals where required.
Requirements:
- Strong written English and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret visual content and describe it meaningfully.
- Ability to work with content across both Humanities and STEM subject areas.
- Familiarity with accessibility concepts and alt text preferred.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience is a plus.
- Experience with project coordination is preferred.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office tools.
