Job Description
Title: Teacher – Engineering, Electronics, and Robotics
Contract: 187 Day Calendar
Reports To: Tech Center Principal
Location: Tech Center
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction aligned with the
assigned Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. This role involves developing and
implementing rigorous, standards-based curriculum while adapting teaching methods to meet
the needs of diverse learners. The teacher is expected to model professionalism, foster a
positive learning environment, and support students in gaining the skills necessary for success
in both employment and post-secondary education. Inherent in this role are the planning,
maintenance, advisory, curricular, budgeting, supervisory, housekeeping, orientation, referral
and counseling functions.
Recommended Employment Qualifications:
1. Possess a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with appropriate vocational
endorsement; OR a minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of recent, relevant work
experience in the occupational area required, along with any additionally required
licenses and/or certifications.
2. Experience in designing and delivering CTE curriculum aligned to the appropriate CIP
Code is preferred.
3. Demonstrated ability to teach and assess CTE Employability Skills is preferred.
4. Active membership in relevant industry, trade, or professional organizations is preferred.
5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find
appropriate and acceptable.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and continually improve individualized CTE curriculum, ensuring it
reflects current industry standards and instructional rigor.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to address varied learning needs and styles
of all students.
• Enforce Tech Center policies and ensure student adherence to behavioral and academic
expectations.
• Collaborate with the Work-Based Learning Specialist to establish, monitor, and support
student placements.
• Facilitate meetings for the program’s Career and Technical Student Organization
(CTSO), including agenda creation and meeting documentation.
• Build partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to enhance public

relations, student opportunities, and program support.
• Organize and maintain a business/industry advisory committee in coordination with
center administration.
• Assist with student recruitment efforts and orientation activities.
• Oversee program budgeting, procurement, and expenditures, maintaining compliance
with financial procedures.
• Implement and model the Tech Center Employability Skills Program for effective
classroom and behavioral management.
• Hold students to high employability and professional standards through modeling,
instruction, and accountability.
• Safely operate, maintain, and instruct students on industry-specific tools and equipment;
ensure lab spaces are clean, organized, and safe.
• Maintain accurate and timely student records including attendance, grades, and
progress reports.
• Utilize assessment tools and instructional software effectively, aligning assessments with
curriculum standards and learning objectives.
• Provide students and administration with Weekly Instructional Event Plans.
• Collaborate with Adult Education and administration to support programs offered
outside regular school hours.
• Maintain up-to-date State CIP Self-Review documentation as required.
• Ensure compliance with all Allegan Area ESA documentation and reporting
requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

10. Demonstrated ability to adhere to Board and Building policies and procedures.
11. Ability to be on the job regularly and have a positive attendance record.
12. Ability to drive between Allegan Area ESA buildings, local districts, conferences and
workshops throughout the state.

13. Available to work Monday-Friday with occasional evenings or weekends.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk;
occasional stooping, bending, and reaching. Close vision is required to perform computer
related tasks. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and
attend to the personal care of students.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
FLSA: Exempt
Terms of Employment:
Position is seven and a half (7.5) hours per day with a 187-day calendar. Wages, benefits, and
work year to be established as per terms of the collective bargaining agreement and provisions
established by the Board of Education.
The qualifications listed above are guidelines for selection purposes; alternative qualifications may be substituted
if sufficient to perform the duties of the job.
