Description

Expert R&D ME/CAE Developer - Mechanical and Mathematical Modeling of Biomedical Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create mechanical design guides, design modifications, and modeling best practices to improve treatment and manufacturing predictability
  • Investigate and analyze design quality, structural integrity, and effectiveness of force moments using FEA tools. Analyze variation dependence and parametric optimization
  • Support design team by identifying and predicting potential design issues with current designs using FEM analysis, recommend design changes as needed, discover, and invent new techniques and methods in modeling, design, and measurement in manufacturing
  • Perform structural and contact FEM simulations using commercial simulation tools. Perform empirical and analytical/numerical correlations
  • Perform simulation and testing of 3D structures at static and dynamic loads and conduct correlation analysis
  • Integration of FEM simulation into integrated CAD system for advanced orthodontic planning and treatment

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Degree of Engineer (Magister) in Mechanical / Computer-Aided Engineering (ME/CAE) or related applied sciences, e.g., Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics
  • 3+ years’ hands-on experience using FEA in designing mechanical parts
  • Optimize force system towards combination of predictability & stability
  • Account for factors that cannot be controlled (open-system)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ CAD/CAM experience, with at least 3 years’ experience using FEA tools (ex. Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran, COMSOL Multiphysics etc.)
  • PhD in Mechanical / Computer-Aided Engineering (ME/CAE) or in related applied sciences, e.g., Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics
  • Ability to effective combination of algorithmic and SW realization with HLL (in particular, C++) would be undoubted advantage
  • Profound knowledge in biomechanics and biomedical engineering would be plus
  • Speed-up calculations: parallelization of major stages of computational process

Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to work independently to make decisions and report progress as required
  • Experience in technical problem statement for the subordinate engineers
  • Experience in conducting stress-strain test vs. modeling correlation
  • Experience performing structural and contact FEAs, preferred
  • Experience working with Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran, Fidesys CAE software, preferred
  • Established records of invention such as patent ownership, preferred
  • Established records of technical paper authorship, preferred
  • Positive, goal-oriented, having good presentation skills and good command of English
