Job Summary

The Financial Accountant position is critical to the integrity of all Financial Reporting capabilities of the group. This role is part of a restructure to the finance team, with a core focus on improving timeliness and accuracy of the internal & external reporting.


The role holder will have a deep focus on cost control and reforecasting capabilities. A key part of this role is for ensuring accuracy of transactional financial data at source – on which the Finance Manager and VP of Finance can fully rely and trust.


What Will The Successful Job Holder Be Like?

Someone who is highly experienced in regular cadenced reporting requirements within a PE environment, but who can also adapt to the ever-changing requirements and landscape within a scaling group. The role holder will be highly skilled in problem solving, identifying process weakness and proposing improvements. Effectively collaborate with all stakeholders within the organisation as a whole, is essential. Someone with a strong work ethic, committed to getting the job done but who always keeps the stakeholders up to date. Attention to detail is key for any successful applicant.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly management accounts preparation – across all group entities, within defined timelines.
  • Procurement – administrate and manage the P2P (Purchase Order to Pay process)
  • AP control – full control and understanding of all payable items, plus managing payment runs
  • AR control – accurate allocation of receipts to open invoices
  • Transactional accounting entries review – within the reporting requirements of our newly implemented accounting package, AccountsIQ
  • Review/ Supervision of Accounts Assistant, including but not limited to:
  • Weekly bank recs
  • Transactional processing
  • Staff expenses review and reimbursement
  • Assist in Group Audit
  • Functional areas reviews – assisting Finance Manager in understanding fluctuations
  • Ad hoc tasks, including:
  • Tax return preparation (across UK and US entities)
  • Statutory work – as required


Core Competencies – Essential

  • 2 years + experience in B2B SAAS (ideally within SME sized groups)
  • Cross Departmental Collaboration
  • Highly proficient use of Microsoft365 (mainly Excel)
  • Efficient and effective communication skills
  • Time management / Prioritisation
  • Organisational & Reporting skills


Qualifications and Experience – Desirable

  • Part qualified ACCA (or equivalent)
  • Process improvement
  • Systems experience in:
  • AccountsIQ
  • Xero
  • Go Cardless
  • Pleo
  • Previous experience of working closely versus agreed KPIs/SLAs
