Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist at Akamai, you will apply machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to large, complex data sets to drive insights and create data-driven solutions that address key business challenges. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, translate those into analytical problems, and deliver actionable insights that drive measurable business impact. Key Responsibilities: - Perform exploratory data analysis to understand data sources, identify key patterns and relationships, and generate hypotheses - Build and deploy machine learning models to predict key business outcomes, detect anomalies, and optimize processes - Implement robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and analyze large-scale data from multiple sources - Communicate analysis results and model insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders - Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to operationalize data-driven solutions - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning and identify opportunities to apply them Required Skills: - 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field - Proficiency in Python, R, or other data analysis languages - Expertise in machine learning techniques such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and natural language processing - Strong background in statistics, data mining, and numerical optimization - Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and SQL databases - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and deliver high-quality results
