Software Engineer II, Front-end

As a Software Engineer II on the Front-end team at Akamai, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing Akamai's customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, user-friendly solutions that meet the needs of our diverse customer base. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining reusable UI components, optimizing application performance, and ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. Key responsibilities: - Design and develop responsive, accessible, and scalable web applications using modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript, Redux, Jest, Cypress) - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver features on time - Contribute to the development and maintenance of Akamai's design system, ensuring consistency and maintainability across the product portfolio - Identify and address performance bottlenecks, implement best practices for code quality, and participate in code reviews - Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end development trends and technologies, and share knowledge with the team Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - 3+ years of experience in front-end web development, with a strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS - Proficient in building single-page applications (SPAs) using popular frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js - Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX, Zustand) and testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Enzyme, Cypress) - Familiarity with modern front-end tooling, such as webpack, Babel, and Git - Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred qualifications: - Experience in designing and implementing responsive, accessible, and scalable user interfaces - Familiarity with TypeScript and its benefits in large-scale front-end applications - Knowledge of server-side technologies (e.g., Node.js, Express, GraphQL) and their integration with front-end applications - Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment processes (e.g., AWS, Azure, Heroku) - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and related tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) Akamai is a leading provider of cloud services for delivering, optimizing, and securing content and business applications over the internet.
