Quality Engineer

AJM Packaging in Southgate, MI seeks Quality Engineers. Duties include - Assist Director of Quality Assurance in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system. Play a key leadership role in driving improvements in the quality of purchased materials. Conduct supplier audits and follow up on reports of defective goods. Ensure timely resolution of nonconforming materials, corrective actions and preventive actions. Interface effectively with Engineering, Purchasing and Operations to ensure readiness for launch of new products in accordance with approved standards and operating procedures. Lead a range of continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality operating system, including 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc Perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns. Develop training to build quality awareness. Conduct audits to ensure compliance to standards, participate in customer or 3rd party audit preparation and provide support during outside audits, including creating related reports and assisting in determining proper corrective and preventive actions. Utilize SQL, MySQL DBA Process Management. Complete all other duties the Supervisor deems necessary. Minimum bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field, foreign educational equivalent accepted, plus two (2) years related work experience.
