About the role

Role Purpose & Objective


The Senior Pega Specialist is responsible for designing, developing or modifying software for RF core application processing platforms. Develops, analyses, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. Collaborate with external consultants and agencies to coordinate delivery of software applications. Skilled and certified (CSSA minimum) on the Pega PRPC platform with ability to work independently and as part of a team. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgement within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.


Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established Pega PRPC standards.
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
  • Develop, refine, and tune integration between applications.
  • Analyse and resolve technical and application problems.
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
  • Undertake autonomous delivery of specific software and testing tasks and assist less experienced software engineers in development, testing and debugging activities.
  • Participate in agile estimations, planning, daily ceremonies and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement in team and personal performance.
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories and work plans.
  • Planning, processing and performing own work in an efficient manner with little or no assistance from the supervisor as part of an agile development team.
  • Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.
  • Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems.
  • Ensure that proposed and existing solution architecture are aligned with organisational goals and objectives.


In addition:


  • Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to Business Analysts and software development teams on the use of the Pega Platform (Alcyon).
  • Document and maintain the organisations existing solutions architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
  • Review new and existing solutions design projects with standards and architectural plans.
  • Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborate with Project Managers, vendors and IT stakeholders to provision estimates and develop overall implementation plan for installation, specialisation and integration efforts.
  • Provide expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design documentation.
  • Work with technical writers to ensure quality internal and external client-oriented documentation.


Experience & Technical Requirements


  • 5-8+ Years of enterprise software design skills in several development languages and deep knowledge of Pega and associated technologies and frameworks.
  • PEGA CSSA certified
  • Good understanding of HTML, XML, JavaScript, micro-services and service-oriented architecture.
  • Ability to analyse, design and support implementation of business-specific Pega solutions and/or frameworks
  • Ability to create reusable components that can be leveraged across the enterprise for providing top-notch customer experience
  • Ability to translate complex business requirement into functional technical requirements using Pegasystems tools.
  • Excellent hands on implementing PEGA integration services using REST, SOAP, Email etc. Good understanding of PEGA new case management features.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • BA/BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred but not required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into practical applications and operational solutions.
  • Proven experience in system design and development.
  • Aptitude to work as change agent that believes in a continuous improvement approach.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of highly available, highly scalable cloud-based infrastructures (AWS or alike) and continuous delivery.
