WHAT YOU'LL DO Airwallex is building a centralized risk platform that leverages advanced analytics and machine learning to enable real-time decisioning across a wide range of products and customer segments. The risk product domain covers platform, engines, case management, and models — offering a full-stack approach to risk detection and mitigation. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will take end-to-end ownership of building predictive models for risk management, focusing on one domain depending on business needs and your expertise. You'll develop scalable data solutions, contribute to decision logic, monitor model impact, and help drive Airwallex's overall risk strategy. This role is based in Singapore. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop and deploy machine learning models to detect and manage risk in a specific domain (e.g., KYC, credit risk, AML, ATO). - Own or co-own the full application of the model, including risk rules or decision logic, and be accountable for business outcomes tied to model performance. - Analyze internal and third-party data sources to improve risk signal coverage and model accuracy. - Lead exploration and application of innovative techniques — including graph models, deep learning, and generative AI — to solve complex risk problems. - Work with product and engineering teams to integrate models and rules into real-time decision engines. - Monitor and maintain model health post-deployment, and iterate based on performance signals.
