Job Summary
The Airport Operational Systems (AOS) System Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of critical airport operational systems that enable safe, secure, and uninterrupted airport operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport.
The role ensures high system availability, performance, security, and reliability of airport
systems such as AODB, AOCC, RMS, and FIDS. The candidate will work closely with airport
operations teams, airlines, OEM vendors, infrastructure teams, and cybersecurity teams to
support system administration, incident resolution, change management, and continuous
service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Operations
• Administer, configure, and maintain airport operational systems including:
o AODB (Airport Operational Database)
o AOCC (Airport Operations Control Centre)
o RMS (Resource Management System)
o FIDS (Flight Information Display System)
• Ensure optimal system performance, availability, and reliability across all
operational systems.
• Perform regular system health checks, monitoring, and preventive maintenance
activities.
• Manage user administration, access control, and system configuration updates.
Monitoring & Incident Management
• Monitor system performance, alerts, and logs to ensure smooth airport operations.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, system failures, and performance issues.
• Ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical incidents to minimise operational
impact.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Change, Release & Maintenance
• Support system upgrades, patching, hotfixes, and configuration changes.
• Ensure all changes follow proper change management processes.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with stakeholders to avoid
operational disruption.
• Validate system functionality after deployments and changes.
Integration & Infrastructure Support
• Support integrations between airport systems including:
o BHS, PPS, VDGS, ATC, BMS, eGate, ACS, Cargo, Data Warehouse
• Monitor data flow across integrated systems and ensure data accuracy and
consistency.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, network, database, and OEM teams for issue
resolution.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and standards.
• Monitor security alerts and coordinate remediation activities with security teams.
Operational Support
• Support live airport operations during disruptions, peak traffic, and critical
situations.
• Work in a 24x7 rotational support environment.
• Collaborate with airport stakeholders, airlines, ground handlers, and vendors for
operational support.
Must Have Skills
• Strong understanding of airport operations and workflows
• Hands-on experience with:
o AODB
o AOCC
o RMS
o FIDS
• Experience in system administration or production support environment
• Strong knowledge of:
o Windows Server / Linux basics
o SQL Server fundamentals
o System monitoring tools
o Log analysis and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes:
o Incident, Problem, Change, SLA management
• Experience working in live production environments
• Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
Good to Have Skills
• Knowledge of airport integration systems (BHS, VDGS, eGate, ATC, ACS, BMS, Cargo
systems)
• Understanding of IATA & ICAO standards
• Knowledge of AIDX XML, Type B, and SSIM messaging
• Experience with VMware / virtualization environments
• Scripting knowledge (PowerShell / SQL)
• Exposure to cybersecurity practices in enterprise environments
Professional & Technical Skills
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple systems in a critical environment
• Experience in incident and problem management
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a 24x7 operational environment
• Excellent communication and vendor coordination skills
