About The Role
We’re building a next-generation enterprise platform for a regulated industry. A critical part of making the system usable is turning messy, real-world customer data, PDFs, Excel files, scanned forms, into clean, structured, validated records.
You’ll design and own the AI/ML systems that make that possible.
This is foundational work. It’s not an AI prototype, it’s the core engine powering a production system used daily in high-integrity operational environments.
What You’ll Work On
- Build document ingestion pipelines (PDF, Excel, scanned forms → structured JSON)
- Design and implement validation logic (rules + heuristics to catch bad data)
- Develop step-based workflows (flag → route → correct → approve)
- Enable human-in-the-loop feedback (logging, traceability, correction UIs)
Your work will directly affect how airlines, engineers, and regulators interact with critical operational data.
Must-Have Experience
- Python (you write clean, testable code, not just notebooks)
- OCR & document parsing (e.g., pdfplumber, Tesseract, PaddleOCR)
- Data structuring & transformation (semi-structured ETL pipelines)
- Schema-based validation (e.g., Pydantic, Cerberus, or custom logic)
Nice to Have
- Workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect, Airflow, LangGraph)
- Human-in-the-loop systems
- API/CLI development experience
- Experience in high-integrity or regulated domains (aviation, healthcare, finance)
- Vector databases, fuzzy matching, or enrichment logic
- Lightweight ML models (e.g., classification, anomaly detection)
You don’t need to check every box.
We care more about how you think, how you build, and how you debug complex real-world systems.
Who We’re Looking For
- A senior engineer who can lead this area independently
- Experience working in startups or fast-moving product teams
- Strong sense of data integrity, structure, and systems reliability
- Calm, focused, proactive, and collaborative in ambiguous environments

- PostgreSQL, JSON, Airflow/Prefect (soon)
- Future tools: LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases
Contracting or Freelance?
We’re open to long-term contractors or freelancers who can commit 30+ hours/week.
