Laborer I (HVAC Support)
Full-Time | Non-Exempt
ASI is seeking a reliable and motivated Laborer I to support HVAC technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning, and water-based systems. This entry-level role plays an important part in ensuring job sites remain efficient, safe, and well-organized while assisting technicians with hands-on tasks. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards.Salary Range and Benefits

Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and organized job site.
- Assist HVAC technicians in the repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems related to refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
- Support preventative maintenance activities on HVAC systems.
- Inspect and monitor refrigeration and air conditioning systems to help ensure proper operation.
- Pick up and deliver materials, tools, and parts as needed to support field operations.
- Assist in investigating HVAC-related issues and perform minor repairs as directed.
- Anticipate job needs and assist in preparing materials and tools to ensure efficient workflow.
- Prepare detailed service reports for work performed to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
- Assist with basic tasks such as soldering and working with refrigerant and water lines.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and control systems.
- Handle refrigerant cylinders, recovery machines, vacuum pumps, and related tools properly and safely.
- Follow all company safety policies and standard industry safety practices.
- Support HVAC technicians as a dependable team member in daily operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of related experience in HVAC, construction, or mechanical work.
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration or HVAC systems preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and their proper use.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to meet company driving requirements.
