Tech Lead Manager, Engineering – Guest & Host

As a Tech Lead Manager on the Guest & Host Engineering team, you will lead a team of skilled engineers to build features and systems that enable millions of guests and hosts to have seamless and delightful experiences on Airbnb's platform. You will partner closely with product managers and designers to drive the technical vision and execution of key initiatives that power our core business. In this role, you will: • Manage and mentor a high-performing engineering team, setting them up for success and growth • Collaborate with product and design to define technical roadmaps and drive execution • Advocate for engineering best practices and champion an engineering excellence mindset • Identify risks and dependencies, and proactively drive mitigation strategies • Be a technical leader and role model, contributing to complex technical designs and decision-making • Contribute to the broader engineering community and help shape Airbnb's technical direction We're looking for someone with: • 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of managing and growing high-performing teams • Strong technical chops and hands-on experience leading the design and architecture of complex, scalable systems • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams • A passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent • Fluency in at least one of Airbnb's core tech stacks (e.g. React, Node.js, Go, Kotlin, Swift) • A keen eye for user experience and a commitment to building high-quality, customer-centric products
