About the role
The Reliability Engineering team is responsible for making Airbnb's infrastructure highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant. We build tools and platforms that enable other engineering teams to build and deploy resilient systems. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Reliability Engineering team, you will be responsible for building platforms and tools that improve the reliability and scalability of Airbnb's core systems. You will work closely with other engineering teams to understand their needs and build solutions that address their pain points. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our systems are highly available and can withstand failures. You should have a strong background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and reliability engineering. You should also be comfortable working with a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to: Kubernetes, Istio, Prometheus, Grafana, and Jaeger.
