Staff Software Engineer, Payments Compliance Experience

Airbnb is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Payments Compliance Experience to join our fast-paced Payments team. You will be responsible for building robust and scalable payments compliance solutions that enable us to meet regulatory requirements and maintain the trust of our hosts and guests. In this role, you will work closely with our Risk, Policy, and Operations teams to understand the compliance landscape and implement the right technical solutions to address our needs. You will also collaborate with engineers across the organization to ensure a cohesive and reliable payments experience. Responsibilities: - Design and build payments compliance solutions that are scalable, reliable, and secure - Implement controls and processes to monitor and audit payments transactions for compliance - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand requirements and drive effective solutions - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers - Stay up-to-date with the latest payments compliance regulations and best practices Requirements: - 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong background in building scalable, mission-critical systems - Expertise in building secure, reliable, and maintainable software systems - Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go - Experience working with payments and financial systems, and a deep understanding of compliance requirements - Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams - Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
