About the role

The Editorial Press Lead is part of the Airbnb Channel Communications team, a truly cross-functional group, and acts as the connective tissue between the global communications team and the regions around the world. The Communications team is responsible for telling the Airbnb story around the world. Whether we are briefing press on inspiring travel trends, highlighting unique stays & experiences led by local hosts, or explaining how travel on our platform benefits local families and communities, we are the voice of Airbnb on a broad range of topics. We're a fast growing and high energy team with a passion for people, places and great stories. If you'd like to be part of one of the world's greatest communications teams, come tell us your story. The difference you will make: We are hiring an Editorial Press Lead to lead the press strategy for all global editorial initiatives, from trends & seasonality to newsjacking and data-led stories, all with the goal of making Airbnb the most positively talked about brand in the world. You will be responsible for developing innovative strategies that keep in mind the changing media landscape, set Airbnb apart from its competitors, and drive impactful results across press and social. This is an extremely cross-function role. You will partner closely with our press teams around the globe that are responsible for producing an always-on drumbeat across consumer, product, policy, and more, to show the world why Airbnb is the best way to experience the world. The ideal candidate is creative, passionate, proactive, strategic, and solution-oriented. The world, the media and social landscape, our industry, and our brand are ever evolving and growing, so the ideal candidate will have their finger on the pulse of new trends and emerging storylines, and be ready to change course when priorities and needs evolve and shift. You must be comfortable working directly with journalists and liaising with agency partners.
