Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Air Ticketing Staff to independently manage airline ticketing operations with a strong focus on customer communication, accurate query handling, and updated airline regulations. The role requires end-to-end handling of bookings, customer support, and ticketing processes while ensuring compliance with IATA policies, airline fare rules, Galileo/GDS system updates, and applicable tax regulations including GST, TCS, and TDS particularly for bulk group and corporate ticketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle end-to-end air ticketing operations including bookings, reissues, cancellations, refunds, and exchanges
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand, clarify, and resolve all ticketing-related queries before ticket issuance
- Ensure customers clearly understand fare rules, penalties, refund conditions, baggage policies, and travel restrictions
- Manage complex customer cases and escalations independently with professionalism
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IATA regulations, airline fare rules, Galileo updates, and new ticketing/industry changes
- Ensure compliance with airline policies, IATA standards, company procedures, and latest regulatory updates
- Monitor ticketing quality to avoid errors, rework, revenue loss, and compliance risks
- Identify upselling opportunities (seat selection, baggage, add-ons) to improve revenue
- Coordinate directly with airlines, consolidators, and travel partners for fare checks, approvals, and issue resolution
- Prepare and maintain ticketing records, customer communication logs, and basic performance reports
- Ensure secure payment handling, fraud prevention, and accurate ticketing audits
- Use GDS platforms effectively and stay updated on new system enhancements
- Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Handle bulk ticketing for group and corporate clients while ensuring correct application of GST, TCS, and TDS
- Ensure accurate tax calculation, invoicing, and compliance with Indian tax regulations for ticketing transactions
- Coordinate with finance/accounts teams to ensure proper tax documentation, reporting, and reconciliation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of airline ticketing rules, fare structures, IATA regulations, and current airline policies
- Hands-on experience with GDS systems
- Excellent customer communication and query-handling skills with ability to explain complex fare rules clearly
- Ability to handle all customer queries independently and ensure full clarity before confirmation
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple bookings simultaneously
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ticketing documentation/reporting
- Willingness to stay updated on new airline rules, system changes, and industry trends
- Working knowledge of GST, TCS, and TDS applicable to air ticketing, especially for bulk and corporate bookings
- Knowledge of tax rules accurately in billing, invoicing, and ticket issuance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Travel, Tourism, Business, or a related field
- Prior experience in a travel agency, airline, or corporate travel environment
- Knowledge of latest airline technology updates and digital ticketing platforms
- Experience handling corporate accounts, group bookings, and tax-compliant invoicing
