Plant Manager – Dothan, AL
Ruskin, a subsidiary of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking an energetic, hands-on Plant Manager to lead our Dothan, Alabama manufacturing operation. The Dothan plant supplies air duct products to key customers across the Southern U.S. This role is fully accountable for plant safety, quality, delivery, cost, and profitability while leading a Lean transformation through ADTI’s Management System (ADMS).
The Plant Manager will align people, processes, and performance to deliver strong customer service, operational stability, and sustainable growth. This leader must be highly visible on the shop floor, capable of driving turnaround and continuous improvement initiatives, and committed to building an inclusive, high‑accountability culture with a strong leadership bench.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead all aspects of plant operations with full accountability for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and P&L performance.
- Champion a strong safety‑first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company standards.
- Develop and execute action plans to achieve Financial Plan revenue and gross margin targets.
- Establish operational capacity and stability to support current demand and sustained growth aligned to the business plan.
- Lead the Lean transformation (ADMS), utilizing ADTI Best Business Practices to improve flow, reduce waste, and increase operational maturity.
- Serve as the top site leader for continuous improvement and transformation projects, ensuring measurable results through CI Trac and Wave.
- Implement S&OP, Master Scheduling, and One‑Piece Flow best practices to reduce lead times, improve efficiency, and optimize inventory.
- Build, develop, and retain a high‑performing leadership team; create and maintain succession plans across all key functions.
- Drive employee engagement through effective communication, coaching, HPTs, and leadership development practices.
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external customers regarding delivery, quality, and supply commitments.
- Represent the plant within the local community, strengthening relationships with local organizations, government entities, and community partners.
- Lead by example, consistently modeling ADTI Integrity Values, customer focus, and respect for employee dignity.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years leading operations or production teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading hands‑on operations in a small or specialized manufacturing facility.
- Proven ability to drive turnaround, stabilization, or performance improvement in safety, delivery, quality, and cost.
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and world‑class manufacturing systems (TPS or similar).
- Solid financial acumen with experience managing or influencing site‑level P&L performance.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with daily operational execution.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people development skills.
- High‑energy leadership style with the ability to motivate, engage, and hold teams accountable.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree (MBA or related field).
- Experience leading transformation in Tier 1 manufacturing facilities (25–100 employees).
- Background in fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing environments.
- Experience implementing ADMS, Lean, or similar continuous improvement systems on a sustained basis.
Work Environment:
This role is based onsite at the Dothan manufacturing facility and requires a strong presence on the production floor. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical equipment, fabrication machinery, varying noise levels, and industrial materials. The role requires the ability to walk, stand, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
