Role Description The AI & Tech Policy Expert is a full-time, remote role responsible for analyzing, developing, and communicating policies related to artificial intelligence and broader technology issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring global policy and regulatory developments, conducting research and drafting policy briefs, white papers, and guidance documents, and providing expert analysis on AI governance, data protection, and digital ethics. The role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to shape organizational positions, contribute to public consultations, and support compliance strategies. The AI & Tech Policy Expert will also prepare presentations and talking points, participate in stakeholder meetings, and help design frameworks and standards that promote safe, transparent, and fair use of AI and digital technologies.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in AI governance, technology regulation, and digital ethics, including familiarity with global regulatory trends and policy frameworks.
- Proficiency in policy research and analysis, with experience drafting policy briefs, reports, and recommendations for diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical and legal concepts into clear, accessible language.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, engage with external stakeholders, and work independently in a remote environment.
- Background in law, public policy, political science, technology studies, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience in AI policy or tech regulation is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of data protection, cybersecurity, and responsible AI practices, including issues related to transparency, accountability, and fairness.
- Experience working with or advising technology companies, public institutions, NGOs, or industry bodies on AI or digital policy is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory, and human-centered approaches to technology development and deployment.
