AI Research Engineer Intern

About the Role
We are looking for an AI Research Engineer Intern who will work closely with our core engineering team to build and improve the intelligence layer of our platform.
This role is for someone who enjoys building real systems, experimenting with models, and solving complex engineering problems.
You should already have hands-on experience building AI systems, agents, or machine learning models, and be comfortable working with real datasets and production code.
This internship is designed as a 3–6 month internship-to-hire pathway. High performers will transition into a full-time AI Research Engineer role.
You will work directly with the founding engineering team on research, experimentation, and implementation of AI capabilities.
What You’ll Work On
- Building and improving AI agents and automation systems
- Experimenting with ML and deep learning models
- Implementing model pipelines, training workflows, and inference systems
- Working with structured and unstructured datasets
- Rapid development of new AI capabilities
- Supporting development of core AI-driven product features
Required Skills
- Strong programming ability in Python and data science tooling
- Hands-on experience building machine learning or deep learning models
- Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, or LlamaIndex
- Experience working with LLM APIs or agent frameworks
- Experience building AI agents, pipelines, or ML systems
- Solid understanding of neural networks and deep learning fundamentals
- Comfortable reading research papers and implementing ideas
Strong Signals
- Public GitHub repositories showing AI or ML projects
- Experience building agent systems or automation tools
- Projects involving deep neural networks or model training
- Participation in AI research projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions
- Experience working with data pipelines or model evaluation
