About The Role
We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to join our dynamic team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling intelligent AI-driven systems utilizing Python, RESTful APIs, and AWS AI/ML services. Your expertise will be pivotal in building sophisticated systems involving large language models (LLMs), agentic workflows, and document extraction pipelines. You will evaluate technical trade-offs to ensure optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability, guiding architectural decisions that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate is hands-on, deeply technical, and capable of leading design discussions, reviewing complex codebases, and mentoring junior engineers to deliver production-grade AI solutions.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess over five years of practical experience in backend engineering, AI/ML systems, or platform development. A strong background in Python development, API design, and cloud-based AI services is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in building scalable async systems, understanding of LLMs, and experience with document processing technologies. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent practical experience will also be considered. Familiarity with AWS AI/ML offerings such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and Textract, along with deep knowledge of LLMs' operational considerations, will be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, high-performance Python services that support AI workflows.
Build and maintain REST APIs to facilitate seamless integration with various systems and platforms.
Implement asynchronous processing techniques to handle I/O-heavy and compute-intensive workloads efficiently.
Design and develop LLM-based and agentic workflows utilizing AWS AI services, including Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker.
Architect robust document and data extraction pipelines capable of processing structured and unstructured inputs such as PDFs and scanned documents.
Evaluate and communicate technical trade-offs related to system performance, cost, and accuracy, providing clear architectural guidance.
Debug, optimize, and harden production systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
Review and refactor complex Python codebases, emphasizing maintainability, type safety, and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable and effective technical solutions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing systems through logging and performance analysis, especially within AWS environments.
Mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices.
