ABOUT THE ROLE
F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Applied AI Engineer to build and deploy production AI systems that automate real business and IT-service workflows.
This is not a no-code or basic automation role. You’ll write production software in Python and/or JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js, integrate LLMs through APIs, build custom middleware and backend services, and connect multiple business systems into reliable AI-powered workflows.
You’ll work like a systems architect: understand the business problem first, decide what should actually be built, choose the right technical approach, and then develop and deploy the solution yourself.
A major project will be an AI ticket-analysis system that reviews high volumes of support tickets and identifies issues such as poor technician communication, missing approvals, incomplete documentation, and non-standard actions — with explainable results and a feedback loop that improves over time.
This is a full-time, remote role for candidates based in India with required overlap with U.S. business hours.
IMPORTANT: Experience with Make, Zapier, n8n, or similar tools is useful, but it is not enough for this role. We need someone with real software-development experience who has shipped AI-powered applications and multi-system integrations into production.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered systems that automate manual IT and service-desk processes
• Develop LLM-powered applications using OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or equivalent APIs
• Build robust REST API integrations with authentication, error handling, retries, and data validation
• Develop custom middleware and production API services when off-the-shelf automation tools are not enough
• Build AI agents and multi-step workflows for operational processes
• Develop an AI ticket-analysis system that reviews support activity and flags communication, approval, and documentation issues
• Create explainable AI outputs and feedback loops that improve reliability over time
• Connect ticketing systems, directory services, communication platforms, databases, and other third-party systems
• Evaluate business problems and recommend the right technical architecture before building
• Own production systems after launch, including logging, monitoring, rate limiting, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvement
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Hands-on experience building AI/LLM applications that have been used in production
• Strong production-level Python and/or JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js development skills
• Experience integrating OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, or similar LLM APIs
• Strong prompt-engineering skills and experience with structured AI outputs
• AI agent and workflow-development experience
• Strong REST API integration experience, including OAuth, API keys, authentication, and JSON
• Backend software-development experience including databases, cloud services, and deployment
• Experience building custom middleware or API services
• Strong systems-integration experience across multiple third-party platforms
• Experience with Git/GitHub and production logging practices
• Strong understanding of error handling, retries, rate limiting, and data validation
• Ability to design solution architecture and independently solve ambiguous technical problems
• Mid-to-senior-level experience delivering real AI applications and multi-system integrations
NICE TO HAVE
• RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and tool/function calling with LLMs
• AI evaluation, hallucination control, and reliability engineering
• Experience with PSA or ticketing platforms such as Autotask
• Active Directory and user-permissions management experience
• n8n, Make, Zapier, or Power Automate experience
• Experience working in an MSP, IT-support, or help-desk environment
• Familiarity with SLA management and ticket-escalation workflows
• Internal dashboard or data-pipeline development experience
• SaaS or enterprise-automation product-development background
