About the Role
At Webbies, we don't just experiment with AI in notebooks—we ship it to production. We are looking for an AI Engineer who is passionate about bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI research and scalable software.
In this role, you won't just be calling generic APIs; you will be fine-tuning models, optimizing pipeline latency, handling computer vision challenges, and building production-grade intelligence directly into our core product ecosystem. If you love taking a paper or a raw model and turning it into a lightning-fast API, you’ll fit right in.
What You Will Bring to Webbies
- Model Development & Fine-Tuning: Design, train, and fine-tune machine learning, deep learning, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to solve specific domain problems.
- Production Deployment: Wrap models into robust, low-latency APIs using FastAPI and integrate them seamlessly with frontend/backend systems.
- Optimization: Profile and optimize model latency, inference costs, and memory footprints for production infrastructure.
- Computer Vision & NLP Pipelines: Build automated pipelines for data extraction, image processing/segmentation, and unstructured text analysis.
- Data Engineering: Structure reliable pipelines for continuous model training, evaluation, and vector database management (RAG).
What We Are Looking For
Technical Stack & Hard Skills:
- Core Language: Strong, idiomatic Python skills.
- Deep Learning Frameworks: Hands-on experience with PyTorch.
- GenAI & NLP: Experience building with Hugging Face Transformers, LLMs, LangChain/LlamaIndex, and implementing RAG architectures.
- Computer Vision: Familiarity with image processing libraries like OpenCV (experience with advanced segmentation or object detection models is a massive plus).
- Backend Integration: Proficiency in building clean, asynchronous APIs using FastAPI.
Experience & Background:
- Years of Experience: 0 to 3 years.
- For Freshers: If you have 0 years of professional experience, we expect to see a GitHub portfolio or Google Colab notebooks demonstrating real projects (e.g., fine-tuned models, custom datasets, or deployed APIs).
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent practical/self-taught experience.
- Core Competencies: Strong code hygiene (clean, documented, version-controlled code), analytical thinking, and a self-starter mindset.
