About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AI Systems Engineer (GenAI) to join our innovative team as an individual contributor. This role requires a hands-on professional who excels at translating real-world business problems into scalable, production-ready Generative AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining GenAI systems that handle both textual and visual data in live environments. You will be responsible for building end-to-end AI solutions, integrating them into cloud infrastructure, and ensuring their performance, reliability, and safety. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI technology, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop impactful AI-driven products that meet client needs and drive business growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience owning and managing production GenAI or machine learning systems, with a focus on back-end or ML-powered product development.
- Strong understanding of foundational AI technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision-Language Models (VLMs), embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt orchestration, fine-tuning, and safety guardrails.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures, with experience in data modeling across SQL and NoSQL databases, including vector databases.
- Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, including IAM, KMS, networking, container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong programming skills in Python, with familiarity in one or more of TypeScript, Go, or Java. Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with observability tools, including logging, metrics, traces, incident response, and performance profiling, ensuring high system availability and reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies including canary and blue-green rollouts.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and document technical architectures clearly.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions by designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end GenAI systems that deliver measurable impact.
- Build and maintain production back-end services, including APIs and microservices, utilizing REST and gRPC protocols, and containerize them using Docker and orchestrate via Kubernetes or cloud-native services.
- Leverage AWS cloud services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, and AI-specific tools like Bedrock and SageMaker for training, hosting, and integrating models.
- Develop solutions across modalities, including text (LLMs, RAG) and images (VLMs, CV), incorporating retrieval, embeddings, fine-tuning, and evaluation pipelines.
- Implement comprehensive observability by instrumenting logging, metrics, and traces, creating dashboards, setting SLOs/SLIs, and establishing alerting mechanisms to monitor system health.
- Validate models and systems through offline and online evaluations, A/B testing, safety checks, and compliance gates to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Establish automated CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and deployment strategies to streamline the path from development to production, including canary and blue-green rollouts.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, domain experts, and downstream teams to support product launches, document architecture, and iterate based on data-driven insights.
