About The Role
The Senior Professional, Software Engineering at Cargill plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced software applications and systems that support the company's diverse operations. This position requires a highly skilled individual capable of working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. The role involves leading efforts in automating deployment processes, enhancing system performance, and troubleshooting complex issues that arise within deployed applications. The Senior Software Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and documentation, thereby contributing to the continuous improvement of software development lifecycle processes.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in software development and automation workflows. Proven expertise in building, configuring, and deploying complex automation pipelines is essential. Candidates should have experience in enabling self-service features for automation, testing, and user acceptance, as well as building and governing standard templates and frameworks for scalable automation solutions. A solid understanding of platform integrations, security protocols, compliance standards, and monitoring tools is required. The ideal candidate demonstrates a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code that meets business requirements.
- Lead the automation of deployment processes by implementing internal software deployment platforms, methodologies, and tools to ensure smooth, reliable releases.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests, perform debugging, and troubleshoot issues to uphold software quality and performance standards.
- Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to development and deployment processes, implementing standards to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain detailed documentation for software applications, deployment procedures, and system configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for complex issues related to deployed applications, minimizing downtime and ensuring rapid resolution.
