About The Role
This role is part of the Advanced Technology team within the Digital eXperience Group (dxg), which co-creates state-of-the-art products and solutions with businesses around the globe. Our expanding suite of solutions supports the growing set of Expert Solutions and online product portfolios. The AI Engineer will play a crucial role in developing innovative AI-driven features and solutions that enhance user engagement, automate processes, and deliver measurable business value. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and strategic thinking to design, implement, and optimize advanced AI models and systems.
The AI Engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to build scalable, reliable, and safe AI solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including large language models, semantic search, conversational AI, and intelligent automation, contributing significantly to the company's digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess an undergraduate or graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with a focus on machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science. A minimum of three years of experience in delivering production-ready AI/ML solutions leveraging GenAI, LLMs, embeddings, or semantic search is required. Strong hands-on expertise in Python and relevant libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow is essential. Experience with HuggingFace Transformers, SentenceTransformers, and integrating LLMs like Azure OpenAI GPT or AWS Bedrock Claude is highly desirable.
Additionally, candidates should have experience working with vector databases such as Weaviate, Pinecone, or Qdrant, and designing training and evaluation pipelines using platforms like Amazon SageMaker or Azure ML. Familiarity with deploying and maintaining Python services using FastAPI, containerization, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is also necessary. Knowledge of model serving, performance tuning, and automation practices within an agile environment will be advantageous.
Preferred qualifications include experience with agentic AI, RAG rerankers, LLM observability, data governance, and Responsible AI principles. Excellent collaboration skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and deliver Generative AI features including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks, ensuring safety controls are integrated effectively.
- Build solutions for semantic search, natural language understanding, conversational assistants, and intelligent automation by combining embeddings with vector search technologies.
- Provide expertise in data wrangling, exploratory data analysis, and experiment design; author and enhance test scripts and harnesses for deterministic and stochastic model behavior, regression testing, and end-to-end functionality.
- Support the development of proof-of-concept prototypes and production services using Python and FastAPI, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Run load tests, monitor logs, and iterate based on cost, latency, and quality metrics to optimize AI system performance.
- Align technology choices with business objectives, practicing Responsible AI principles such as content filtering, auditability, and safety measures to ensure ethical AI deployment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product managers, software engineers, and data scientists to deliver innovative solutions that meet user needs and business goals.
