Build AI that matters.
We’re looking for an exceptional AI Scientist to work directly with the Founder’s Office on the most important problems and opportunities in the company.
This is not a narrow research role. This is a high-trust, high-ownership position for someone who can combine deep AI capability, first-principles thinking, and startup execution speed.
You will work on zero-to-one initiatives, strategic bets, product intelligence, applied AI systems, and special projects that sit at the core of company building. You will help shape not only what we build, but why it matters.
At the heart of this role is the chance to create meaningful real-world impact, especially in areas like public health, access, early detection, care delivery, and decision support. We are looking for someone excited by the idea that AI can do more than improve workflows, it can help improve outcomes, expand access, and strengthen systems that affect millions of lives.
For the right person, this role is a true leadership track. Based on performance, ownership, and long-term commitment, this person can grow into a C-suite role over time.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating meaningful impact and gaining growth and experience in this field, rather than being primarily driven by money or salary benefits.
What you’ll do
- Work directly with the founders on high-priority strategic and AI-led initiatives
- Identify where AI can create real competitive advantage across product, operations, growth, and decision-making
- Build AI systems that are not only technically strong, but capable of driving meaningful impact in the real world
- Explore and develop AI applications that can improve public health delivery, access to care, operational efficiency, risk detection, and frontline decision-making
- Turn ambiguous ideas into structured experiments, product concepts, and scalable solutions
Lead work across areas such as:
- LLM applications and agents
- NLP and information extraction
- Predictive modeling and intelligence systems
- Multimodal AI
- AI-enabled workflow automation
- Build fast, test fast, learn fast, with strong scientific rigor and practical judgment
- Create evaluation frameworks for model performance, reliability, safety, and ROI
- Partner with product, engineering, and leadership teams to move ideas from concept to execution
- Help define the long-term AI roadmap and internal intelligence capabilities of the company
Who we’re looking for
- Strong background in AI/ML, applied research, or advanced data science
- Proven ability to move from research insight to production-grade execution
- Strong coding ability in Python and experience with modern ML tooling/frameworks
- Deep familiarity with today’s AI stack, including some of the following:
- Large language models
- Fine-tuning / adaptation
- Retrieval systems
- Classical ML and statistical methods
- Experimentation and evaluation design
- AI deployment workflows
- High ownership, low ego, and comfort operating in ambiguity
- Strong business instinct, not just technical excellence
- A strong motivation to work on problems that have social, systemic, and human impact
- Ability to think like a builder, operator, and future leader
- Master’s or PhD in CS, AI, ML, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred
- Someone with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience.
