Role Description This full-time Senior AI/ML Computer Vision / Image Processing Engineer (Fingerprint Biometrics) role is based in Bengaluru in a hybrid work model, combining on-site collaboration with flexible work-from-home options. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing computer vision and image processing algorithms specifically for fingerprint biometrics, from data acquisition to feature extraction and matching. You will develop and train AI/ML models, evaluate their performance, and improve robustness, accuracy, and speed across diverse user and device conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include working with product and hardware teams to refine requirements, building scalable pipelines for data preprocessing and model deployment, and conducting experiments to enhance biometric security and user experience. You will also review code, mentor team members, document technical designs, and contribute to the overall architecture of YellowSense’s AI-powered products.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in computer vision and image processing, including fingerprint enhancement, feature extraction, and pattern recognition.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML techniques such as deep learning, model training, evaluation, and optimization for biometric applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for CV/ML (e.g., Python, C++), and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Solid understanding of biometric systems, security concepts, and performance metrics (e.g., FAR, FRR, ROC, liveness detection).
- Experience building end-to-end data and model pipelines, including preprocessing, versioning, deployment, and monitoring.
- Ability to design experiments, analyze results, and communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Background in software engineering best practices, including unit testing, code review, documentation, and agile collaboration.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior work on edge or mobile deployments, GPU acceleration, or optimization for real-time systems is a strong plus.
- Comfort working in a small, fast-paced team environment with a focus on innovation, ownership, and continuous learning.
