Job details:
Role Overview
This is a developer role for someone who can
actually code — and who uses AI tools to go faster, not to skip the engineering. We're not hiring a prompt operator. We're hiring someone who understands what their code does, can debug it when an AI tool produces something broken, and can design systems that hold up in production.
You'll work across two halves of the job. The
thinking half: sit with our design, construction, finance, and operations teams, map how work really flows, identify what's broken, and design better systems. Sometimes the answer is automation; sometimes it's a different workflow; sometimes it's "stop doing this." The
building half: ship real automations, internal tools, AI agents, integrations, and small apps — using Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, and the wider AI toolchain as multipliers on top of solid engineering fundamentals.
Creative AI tools (Flora, Midjourney, Runway, Firefly) are part of the kit too, for visuals, mood boards, and presentation assets.
How You'll Work
- Think first, build second — understand the problem before reaching for a tool
- Look at traditional processes critically — "why do we do it this way?" should be a default question
- Use AI tools as multipliers on top of real coding skills, not as a substitute for them
- Write code you can defend, debug, and maintain — not just code that runs the first time
- Push back when an idea (ours or yours) doesn't make sense
Key Responsibilities
Process & Systems Thinking
- Map current workflows across design, construction, finance, and operations
- Identify inefficiencies, duplicated effort, manual bottlenecks, and broken handovers
- Propose redesigned processes — with or without automation
- Communicate trade-offs clearly to leadership
Development & Engineering
- Build automations, integrations, and internal tools
- Design APIs, webhooks, data pipelines, and small backend services
- Apply real engineering discipline — version control, testing, error handling, documentation
- Read, debug, and improve AI-generated code — never ship something you don't understand
AI Integration & Agents
- Build custom AI agents and workflows using Claude API, Microsoft Copilot Studio and similar
- Develop document intelligence pipelines: extract data from drawings, BOQs, specs, quotations
- Build cross-checking systems — drawings vs. specs vs. schedules vs. quotations
- Use Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot as part of your normal development workflow
- Know when to use a no-code platform vs. when to write actual code
Creative AI
- Use Flora, Midjourney, NanoBanana, Runway, Adobe Firefly for visuals, mood boards, and presentation assets
- Build reusable visual systems and prompt libraries for the design team
Microsoft 365 Integration
- Architect AI and automation workflows that read from and write to SharePoint, Teams, Planner, OneDrive
- Create structured data pipelines linking project information across systems
Must-Have Skills
- Real coding ability in Python or JavaScript — you can build, debug, and ship without depending on AI tools to do the thinking for you
- Hands-on experience building automations, integrations, or small apps (portfolio expected)
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and basic data structures
- Experience using Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted dev tools as part of a normal workflow
- Comfort calling LLM APIs and reasoning about prompts, context windows, and structured outputs
- Strong logic, data structure, and system design intuition
- Genuine problem-solver's mindset
- Excellent English communication
- Experience with creative AI tools (Flora, Midjourney, Runway, Firefly, ComfyUI) and using Vision models
- Microsoft 365 ecosystem familiarity (SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Power BI)
- RAG, vector databases, or document intelligence workflows
- 2–5 years experience
