Job Purpose
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
Supporting Actions
- Planning
- For optimum utilization of GST provisions to save outflow of duties.
- Preparing annual budget with respect to indirect tax liability on the basis of production forecasts and taxation rates.
- Operational Excellence
- Liaising with GST Department to ensure speedy approvals and issue of authorization at all times.
- Interacting with the Advocates and Consultants for timely filing of Appeals and reply to Show-cause Notice.
- Budgetary Controls
- Obtaining Refund of Coal Cess on Exports.
- Handling Legal disputes with GST authorities.
- Compliance
- Ensuring effective statutory compliance of:
- GST Statute, Rules, provisions and notifications.
- Minimizing litigation by strict adherence to the statutes.
- Ensuring compliance with respect to the Integrated Management System, Health- Safety-Environment norms and security guidelines.
- Customer-centricity
- Reporting status of GST compliance as well as progress on litigation to the DH.
- Reporting monthly activity to the Corporate Taxation Cell.
- Sustainability and Process Improvement
- Improving processes to expedite workflows.
- Ensuring maximum utilization of automated platforms to maintain updated records and generate reports.
- Leading and participating in Kaizen and other improvement initiatives of the Organization.
- Partnering digitization initiatives and in creation and maintenance of green belt.
- Ensuring good Housekeeping practices.
- People development and engagement
- Monitoring and improving performance of team members.
- Ensuring training of all team members to enhance technical and behavioral competencies and increasing safety awareness.
- Improving team engagement scores.
- Keep team motivated to establish 5S culture.
- Role Specific Competencies
Technical competencies
- Post-Graduation in Commerce, MBA in Business Administration.
- Knowledge of indirect taxation laws and changes – national and international – including interpretations and applicability.
- Understanding of technical processes and issues at the Unit.
- Knowledge of accounting standards.
- Knowledge of key commercial statutes.

Assistant stock recording and updation and Returns
- To maintain proper stock recoding and timely filing of GST returns.
