Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
Supporting Actions
Incoming Quality Management
- Define and implement Incoming Quality control plans, inspection standards, and acceptance criteria for bought?out and manufactured parts.
- Ensure adherence to customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements at supplier and plant level.
- Lead Incoming Quality inspections, sampling plans, and process audits for suppliers.
- Drive first?time?right material clearance to avoid line stoppages and production disruptions.
- Manage supplier quality issues, including:
- Incoming rejections and NCRs
- Root cause analysis (5?Why, Fishbone)
- Corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Monitor and improve supplier PPM, rejection trends, and quality performance metrics.
- Coordinate with suppliers on containment actions, process improvements, and quality maturity.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and compliance to IATF/ISO quality systems.
New Project / Launch Quality Support
- upport new product and project launches from development to SOP (Start of Production).
- Review and approve APQP deliverables, including:
- PFMEA & DFMEA
- Control Plans
- Process Flow Diagrams
- MSA & SPC
- Lead PPAP preparation, review, and approval with suppliers and customers.
- Conduct trial evaluation, pilot lot inspection, and run?at?rate assessments.
- Ensure supplier readiness before launch through audits, process validation, and capability studies.
- Support customer quality requirements specific to projects (e.g., Hyundai launch expectations).
- Monitor early production quality and execute launch containment plans to protect the customer.
Cross?Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Purchase, Production, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Project teams.
- Act as the quality interface between suppliers, plant, and customers during launch and mass production.
- Participate in daily reviews, project gates, and quality review meetings.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, cost of poor quality (COPQ), and rework.
- Support internal, customer, and certification audits (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
- Promote zero?defect mindset and quality culture across incoming and project teams.
