This Is How You Can Contribute

  • Running the 'Sample Preparation and Analytics Userlab' research team in organisational, staff and technical terms
  • Responsibility for running, optimising and developing the 'Sample Preparation and Analytics' Userlab at the Reckenholz site and across sites with a central research campus in Posieux -Supervising research projects, e.g. conducting and maintaining experiments on the test fields and in the laboratory as well as analysing, presenting and interpreting the results
  • Implementing and enforcing the relevant safety and quality regulations as well as safeguarding and guaranteeing effective and efficient workflows

This makes you unique

  • Vocational school diploma as a laboratory technician, miller or related field; follow-up training with a tertiary degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environment, Agronomy or a related field an asset. Several years' professional experience and experience in leading a team and/or project management
  • Leadership skills, team spirit, good communication skills, stress tolerance and a passion for agricultural research
  • Extensive experience running a core facility. Experience with common office software and data processing tools; experience with LIMS an asset
  • Strong networking skills, good assertiveness skills, high resilience, service-oriented
  • Knowledge of two official Swiss languages and a very good command of written and spoken English

Additional Information

All living creatures contribute to the operation and stability of ecosystems with their biodiversity and different functions. A number of these characteristics are determined in the DNA of the organisms. The 'Molecular Agroecology and Plant Ecology' Research Group deals with and supports scientific research projects on genetic and genomic diversity, using cutting-edge molecular-biological, bioinformatic and biostatistical approaches. At the Reckenholz site, the Group runs a molecular biology Userlab and offers in-situ support for chemical analyses with the preparation of the samples and basic analysis as well as with the transfer of samples to the Posieux central laboratory. In addition, the Team supports research projects of the Research Group and of its research partners.
