Role Description The Agronomist role at HimShikhar HerbTech is a full-time, on-site position based in Mandi. The Agronomist will conduct field assessments, evaluate soil and crop conditions, and provide recommendations on crop management, fertilization, and irrigation practices. Daily activities include designing and monitoring field trials, collecting and analyzing agricultural data, and preparing concise reports and technical guidance for internal teams and farmers. The role also involves advising on plant nutrition strategies, training farmers and field staff on best agronomic practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable cultivation protocols. The Agronomist will frequently visit fields, interact with local stakeholders, and support continuous improvement of HimShikhar HerbTech’s agricultural programs.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, with the ability to diagnose soil-related issues and recommend appropriate nutrient management plans.
- Applied knowledge of Agriculture practices and Irrigation techniques, including experience with crop planning, water management, and sustainable farming methods.
- Research skills to design trials, collect field data, analyze results, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Soil Science, or a related field.
- Ability to work primarily in the field, conduct regular farm visits in and around Mandi, and communicate clearly with farmers and internal teams.
- Competence in basic data analysis, recordkeeping, and report writing; familiarity with digital tools for data collection is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to sustainable and ethical agricultural practices.
- Prior experience in herb cultivation, hill agriculture, or similar agro-ecological regions is preferred but not mandatory.
