Role: Agro & Commodity Trading Head

Location: Ahmedabad | Travel: Mundra, Gujarat/Rajasthan belts
Reports to: Promoter directly

A ground-up build. You set up the trading business — castor seed and castor oil first, then spices and agri commodities as the book grows. You own sourcing, the trading book, buyer relationships, and P&L. No existing team. No playbook. You write it.


What You Own

- Full trading P&L — physical positions plus on-screen hedging on NCDEX/MCX
- Sourcing from Gujarat mandis and direct aggregator relationships
- Buyer development — domestic B2B and export
- Daily exposure tracking — physical inventory + open futures, combined view
- Small team hire and management as volumes grow


The Hedging Requirement

You must have personally executed hedges on MCX or NCDEX — not supervised, not advised. Actually placed the orders, managed the book, and closed positions. Candidates without this will not be considered.

Expected to run basis trades, physical-vs-futures arbitrage, and manage spread positions actively.


Commodity Experience

Must have: Castor seed / castor oil
Strong advantage: Jeera, guar seed, psyllium
Any advantage: Dehydrated onion/garlic, groundnut, agri exports

Who You Are

- 6–14 years in physical agro commodity trading
- Real mandi relationships — not a contact list, actual working access
- Ran a trading book personally, not just managed a team that did
- Comfortable at a mandi at 7am and reviewing your futures screen at 9pm
- Want to build something, not maintain something

Ideal background: Trading desk at Olam, ITC Agri, Ruchi, Gujarat Ambuja, or a mid-size Gujarat trading house — with the hunger to run your own book with capital backing.

Compensation

Fixed: Market rate.
Variable: Meaningful P&L share — structured so exceptional performance creates exceptional income. This should feel like running your own book, not a salaried job.
