Role Description The AGM / Senior Manager – Quality (QA/QC) is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for leading quality assurance and quality control across solar project life cycles. This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of QA/QC systems, procedures, and standards aligned with industry regulations and organizational goals. Daily activities include planning and conducting inspections and audits at project sites, reviewing technical documentation, monitoring compliance with quality plans, and coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, and O&M teams to resolve quality issues. The position involves analyzing root causes of non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and preparing detailed quality reports and dashboards for management review. The role also includes mentoring and guiding quality teams, interfacing with clients and external agencies on quality-related matters, and supporting certifications and regulatory audits.
Qualifications
- Strong background in quality management for solar, renewable energy, or related engineering projects, including QA/QC planning, documentation, and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with site inspections, testing and commissioning activities, and adherence to relevant standards and codes (e.g., ISO, electrical safety, construction quality norms).
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and use of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., PDCA, FMEA, statistical quality control).
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, procurement, construction, and O&M to ensure consistent quality and timely issue resolution.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, including preparation of quality dashboards, audit reports, and process improvement proposals.
- Proven leadership capabilities to manage and develop QA/QC teams, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or related discipline); a master’s degree or relevant quality certifications (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor, Six Sigma) are an advantage.
