Job details:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
Minimum 15 years of experience in Project management & execution including project procurement
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project planning, management, control, execution, cost estimation, budgeting & project closure
- Preparation of RFQ document, Vendor development, floating enquiry, techno-commercial evaluation in coordination with technical team, negotiation, contract management, contract closure
- Hands-on knowledge of any project management software like Primavera or MS projects, MIS preparation
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Project Management:
- Plan, organize, control and execute project activities from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with engineering and site team to coordinate project schedules and resources.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
· Estimation & Costing:
- Prepare and review project estimates, budget allocations, and cost reports.
- Ensure cost-effective solutions are incorporated in all phases of project planning and execution.
- Monitor and control project costs to maintain profitability and project feasibility.
Project procurement:
- Prepare detail techno-commercial RFQ document in consultation with engineering team, floating enquiry to suppliers, techno-commercial evaluation of the suppliers’ offers in collaboration with engineering team, negotiation & order placement
- Order execution, follow up with suppliers, visiting suppliers to inspect quality and progress, timely delivery to the site matching the project schedule, mitigating delays at suppliers’ end, payment processing, contract closure
· Project execution:
- Coordination with engineering team to collect BOM, initiating procurement action, collecting suppliers’ drawings/ documents, getting the same vetted by engineering team, collecting final drawings from suppliers for approval
- Coordinating with different external mechanical, electrical, civil, furnace consultants and placement of purchase orders/ work orders to different suppliers and contractors, monitoring each job progress
- Coordinating with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely installation & site management and effective commissioning of individual equipment.
· Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including drawings, schedules, budgets, and technical reports.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to management, detailing project status, challenges, and accomplishments.
- Document all incidents and issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
