The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic DTC marketer to join our growing US Marketing Team. The Associate Director/Director, Patient Marketing will focus on developing and executing the patient strategy in preparation for the future launch of mitapivat, currently in development for sickle cell disease, a vastly underserved community. We want to find an experienced marketer with the skills and passion to help us fulfill our mission of helping this patient community. This position will lead and execute key commercial projects to engage patients and their caregivers. This position reports to the Senior Director, Patient Marketing and will start as an individual contributor. 

 

What you will do:

  • Support and oversee the execution of patient and caregiver tactics, ensuring high‑quality delivery against objectives. 
  • Monitor and assess performance metrics, identifying insights and opportunities to optimize strategy and messaging over time. 
  • Partner with Digital Marketing to help build and execute an integrated omnichannel approach, including media mix, measurement, optimization, and analytics. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HCP Marketing, Digital Marketing, Patient Advocacy, US Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, Market Access, and Field Teams, to support alignment and successful execution 
  • Manage key agency relationships, contributing to clear scope, and accountability 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and corporate requirements both individually and for the sickle cell patient team 

 

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in pharma marketing experience, with 3 years DTC/consumer pharma marketing experience 
  • Previous product launch experience 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational and critical‑thinking skills. skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to think creativity, with experience contributing to innovative projects and a willingness to thoughtfully explore novel approaches 
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality work on-time and within budget 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory, legal and compliance requirements. 
  • Ability to work independently on most assignments, seeking guidance on more complex or novel tasks 
  • Flexibility to travel (up to 20% travel anticipated)

  • Consumer/DTC marketing
  • Rare disease DTC experience
  • Inclusive marketing experience a plus

Work Location:

Location Agnostic: Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance to our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/ meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate to the above job description.

  • Competitive and equitable performance-based compensation. This includes base salary and both short- and long-term incentives that are connected to our business strategy and vary based on individual and company performance.
    • The current base salary range for this position at the Associate Director level is expected to be between $153,541 and $230,312 annualized and the current base salary range for this position at the Director level is expected to be between $183,549 and $275,324 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
