About the role

The African Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) is a specialized technical institution of the African Union that strengthens the capacity and capability of Africa's public health institutions as well as partnerships to detect and respond quickly and effectively to disease threats and outbreaks based on data-driven interventions and programmes. The Africa CDC is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Senior Supply Chain Officer (Local Manufacturing) (AfCDC). The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementation, and monitoring of the supply chain processes and systems for the local manufacturing of medical commodities and devices. Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop and implement the supply chain strategy for local manufacturing of medical commodities and devices - Oversee inventory management, warehousing, and distribution of medical commodities and devices produced locally - Ensure compliance with relevant quality, regulatory, and procurement standards in supply chain processes - Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to align supply chain processes and systems - Monitor and evaluate supply chain KPIs and identify areas for improvement - Provide technical support and capacity building to member states on local manufacturing and supply chain management - Perform any other duties as may be assigned. Requirements: - Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field - At least 7 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, preferably in the healthcare/medical devices sector - Strong understanding of supply chain principles, processes, and systems - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills - Proficient in using supply chain management software and data analysis tools - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work in a multicultural environment and build effective partnerships - Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other AU working languages is an advantage.
