Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Area Sales Manager role based in Chennai. The Area Sales Manager will oversee sales activities for analytical instruments in the assigned region, including prospecting new customers, managing existing accounts, and driving revenue growth. Responsibilities include meeting sales targets, conducting product demonstrations and presentations, coordinating with technical and service teams, and providing feedback from the market to support business strategy. The role involves regular client visits, territory planning, participation in industry events, and preparation of sales reports and forecasts. The Area Sales Manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure high customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in field sales or business development, preferably in analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, or related scientific products.
- Strong skills in customer relationship management, negotiation, and closing sales deals within an assigned territory.
- Ability to plan and execute sales strategies, manage pipelines, and achieve or exceed regional sales targets.
- Solid understanding of industrial segments such as pharmaceutical, chemical, food, petrochemical, and related quality control or R&D environments.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical features and benefits to diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort with preparing sales reports, using CRM tools, and analyzing market trends and competitor activity.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business, or a related field; a background in chemistry or life sciences is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned area and work on-site with customers and internal teams.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented mindset, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
