The Lead AEM Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise-scale Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions. The role provides technical leadership across AEM development teams, drives engineering best practices, ensures high-quality solution delivery, and collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable digital experiences.
Required Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager 6.5 and/or AEM as a Cloud Service.
• Strong Java, OSGi, Apache Sling, JCR, HTL/Sightly, Maven, and Git experience.
• Good understanding of AEM Sites, components, templates, editable templates, policies, client libraries, workflows, tags, and DAM.
• Experience with Sling Models, servlets, filters, schedulers, event listeners, and custom OSGi services.
• Experience with AEM Core Components and component customization.
• Strong understanding of dispatcher, caching, replication, CDN, and performance optimization.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience integrating AEM with REST APIs and external platforms.
• Good understanding of Agile delivery, sprint planning, estimation, release management, and defect triage.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex AEM issues across author, publish, dispatcher, and CDN layers.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service and Adobe Cloud Manager.
• Experience with Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Launch, Adobe Campaign, or Adobe Experience Platform (Optional).
• Experience with MSM, multilingual sites, translation workflows, and large-scale site rollouts.
• Experience with GraphQL, Content Fragments, Experience Fragments, SPA Editor, or headless AEM.
• Experience with Akamai or similar CDN platforms.
• Knowledge of search indexing, Oak indexes, Lucene, and query performance tuning.
• Experience with SonarQube, code quality gates, security scans, and performance monitoring tools.
• Experience working in enterprise digital platforms, airline, banking, retail, telecom, or travel domains.
