Consumer Education and Research Centre (CERC), a leading Consumer Organization working for consumer protection, research, and advocacy, invites applications for the position of Advocacy Assistant. This role offers an opportunity to work on important consumer issues, contribute to policy advocacy, and help strengthen consumer awareness across society.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assist the advocacy work of advancing consumer protection initiatives and campaigns. Responsibilities include:
- Studying and comprehending research reports, policy papers, and government regulations related to consumer protection.
- Preparing advocacy notes, representations, and awareness material for campaigns and policy engagement, including articles for CERC’s weekly consumer magazine “Grahak Sathi.”
- Travelling to meet senior-level government officials and regulatory authorities to support advocacy efforts.
- Interacting with stakeholders, including civil society groups, institutions, and experts, to build support for campaigns.
- Addressing student groups and educational institutions to sensitise young consumers about pressing consumer issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- Postgraduate degree in any discipline with Excellent English communication skills, including public speaking
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi is preferred.
