Company Description Reshvah Initiative is a youth-led heritage organization dedicated to ensuring that endangered heritage does not disappear unnoticed. The initiative recognizes heritage as living practices and memories, including crafts, languages, stories, architecture, dance, traditions, communities, and ways of life. Reshvah works to document heritage rigorously, amplify the voices of tradition bearers, and connect communities with researchers and volunteers. The team explores new pathways for awareness, preservation, and revival, aiming to build a scalable model that can support endangered heritage across cultures and borders. Role Description The Advisory Board Chair is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhagalpur, responsible for providing strategic guidance and governance oversight to the Reshvah Initiative. The Chair will lead advisory board meetings, set agendas, and facilitate discussions that align with the organization’s mission and long-term goals. This role involves reviewing and advising on key initiatives, partnerships, and programs, especially those related to heritage documentation, community engagement, and sustainable funding models. The Chair will collaborate with the founding team, board members, and external stakeholders to support organizational growth, risk management, and ethical decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities include mentoring leadership, evaluating strategic plans, supporting fundraising and investment conversations, and representing Reshvah in high-level forums and public engagements.
Qualifications
- Strategic leadership skills, including experience in Strategy development, organizational growth, and governance.
- Financial and investment acumen, with familiarity in Investments and Venture Capital to guide sustainable funding approaches.
- Experience with Fundraising and resource mobilization, including building relationships with donors, partners, and aligned institutions.
- Background in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) or partnership structuring, helpful for advising on collaborations and expansion models.
- Proven experience in board-level or senior advisory roles, preferably in social impact, cultural heritage, or nonprofit sectors.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work inclusively with youth leaders, communities, and cross-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and long-term community-centered work.
- Relevant advanced degree or equivalent professional experience in fields such as management, public policy, cultural studies, or related areas.
