Job Description -
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Advertising Sales Manager to lead and grow our newspaper's advertising sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and driving revenue growth through print and digital advertising solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of the newspaper industry, media sales, and client servicing.
Key Responsibilties -
- Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to meet sales targets and expand the customer base.
- Identify new revenue opportunities, including cross-platform packages (print + digital).
- Forecast revenue and track sales performance metrics.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key advertisers, agencies, and businesses.
- Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
- Understand clients' business needs and develop tailored advertising solutions.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the ad sales team.
- Set performance targets and provide coaching to achieve team goals.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with editorial, design, and production teams to ensure timely ad placements.
- Collaborate with marketing to create promotional packages and campaigns.
- Market Intelligence:
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and pricing strategies.
- Stay updated on industry developments, audience insights, and advertising innovations.
Qualifications & Skills -
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in advertising sales, preferably in print media or newspaper industry.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of digital advertising is a plus.
