Role Summary
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a professional upskilling school that offers certifications in technical and management skills. The organisation helps students and working professionals become job-ready, while also supporting companies in upskilling their existing employees instead of spending more time and money on firing, rehiring and training new people.
Our client is looking for an experienced Admissions Counsellor / Admissions Manager who can speak with potential students, understand their career goals and guide them towards suitable programmes.
This is a sales-focused admissions role. The candidate must be comfortable with sourcing leads, speaking with adult learners, explaining programme benefits, following up regularly and closing admissions.
The right person should have strong communication skills, business fluent English and the ability to work closely with marketing and sales teams, both internal and external.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Sourcing and Outreach
- Source potential students through calls, databases, referrals, digital campaigns and other channels.
- Contact working professionals and adult learners who may be interested in upskilling.
- Follow up with leads generated through marketing campaigns.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of interested candidates.
- Track lead status and next steps carefully.
Student Counselling and Conversion
- Speak with potential students to understand their background, career goals and learning needs.
- Explain the school’s programmes, certifications, learning outcomes and career relevance.
- Help candidates choose the right programme based on their goals.
- Address questions related to fees, programme structure, duration and outcomes.
- Convert interested candidates into enrolled students.
Sales and Follow-Up
- Manage the full admissions process from first conversation to final enrolment.
- Follow up consistently with interested candidates through phone, WhatsApp, email and other channels.
- Handle objections professionally and patiently.
- Meet admissions and enrolment targets.
- Maintain discipline in daily calling, follow-up and reporting.
Coordination with Marketing and Sales Teams
- Work closely with internal marketing and sales teams to improve lead quality and conversion.
- Coordinate with external marketing or sales partners where required.
- Share feedback on lead quality, common objections and student interests.
- Support campaigns by providing practical admissions insights.
- Ensure clear communication between admissions, marketing and management teams.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of leads, conversations, follow-ups and admissions status.
- Update trackers, CRM systems or Google Sheets regularly.
- Prepare simple reports on leads, conversions and admissions progress.
- Keep all student information organised and confidential.
- Ensure timely reporting to management.
Required Skills
- Prior experience in admissions, education sales, counselling or inside sales.
- Business fluent English, both spoken and written.
- Strong communication and persuasion skills.
- Comfortable speaking with adults and working professionals.
- Ability to explain programmes clearly and confidently.
- Good follow-up discipline and sales closing ability.
- Comfortable using Google Sheets, CRM tools, WhatsApp, email and calling platforms.
- Able to work with internal and external marketing and sales teams.
