Role Description The Admission Counsellor role is a full-time, on-site position based in South Dum-Dum. The Admission Counsellor will guide prospective students and their families through the course and college selection process, explaining program options, eligibility criteria, admission procedures, and application timelines. The role involves conducting one-on-one counselling sessions (in person and via phone or online channels), following up with leads, and maintaining accurate records of interactions in the CRM or tracking tools. The Admission Counsellor will collaborate with internal teams to stay updated on new programs, admission updates, scholarships, and partnerships, and will support outreach activities such as seminars, events, and information sessions. The role also includes meeting defined targets related to student inquiries, conversions, and overall student satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong Interpersonal Communication and Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and empathetically to diverse student backgrounds.
- Proven Customer Service experience, including handling inquiries, resolving concerns, and maintaining a professional and helpful demeanor.
- Basic to intermediate Sales skills, including lead follow-up, conversion focus, and comfort working toward measurable targets and goals.
- Background or strong interest in Education, career guidance, or academic counseling, with an understanding of the Indian higher education landscape.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Education, Psychology, Management, or related fields preferred) and prior experience in counselling, admissions, or EdTech is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in South Dum-Dum, manage time effectively, and handle multiple inquiries simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (email, spreadsheets, CRM or lead management tools) and comfort using online communication platforms.
- Fluency in English and relevant regional languages is highly beneficial.
