Job Title: Administrative and Human Resources Assistant
Organization: Housing and Land Rights Network India Location: New Delhi, India
Role: To provide part-time administrative, coordination, organizational, and basic human resources support, including scheduling, communication, documentation, staff coordination, and follow-up on day-to-day operational tasks.
Background: Housing and Land Rights Network (HLRN – www.hlrn.org.in) is a non-profit organization working to enhance knowledge and action towards the recognition and full implementation of the human rights to adequate housing and land in India. Our special focus remains on the most marginalized populations living in inadequate housing conditions, in informal settlements or homelessness, and those facing evictions or displacement.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in administration, human resources, management, social sciences, humanities, or a related field.
• At least 1–3 years of relevant experience in administration, HR coordination, office management, or organizational support, preferably in the non-profit/social sector.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, communication, and coordination skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and online communication platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi is desirable.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and responsibly handle sensitive administrative and personnel information.
• Familiarity with basic HR and administrative processes including recruitment coordination, onboarding, staff documentation, leave tracking, consultant management, and organizational compliance processes.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage schedules, meetings, events, and organizational logistics.
• Maintain task trackers, timelines, records, databases, and filing systems.
• Draft and organize emails, correspondence, reports, minutes, and documentation.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, leave records, employee contracts, and HR trackers.
• Coordinate communication with staff, consultants, partners, donors, and vendors.
• Support administrative and operational processes including travel, reimbursements, procurement, and invoices.
Assist with organizational follow-up, compliance processes, and day-to-day coordination. Remuneration for the position will range between INR 25,000–35,000 per month, commensurate with experience, skills, and time commitment.
