Job Purpose:
The Chief Sales and Marketing is responsible for leading and directing the overall sales and marketing strategies of the organization. This role involves overseeing eight key functions. The primary objective is to drive revenue growth, enhance brand equity, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective sales and marketing initiatives aligned with the company’s business objectives.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy aligned with business objectives and revenue targets.
- Lead and guide the heads of key functions, ensuring cohesive strategy implementation and performance.
- Participate in executive and strategic discussions to shape the company’s direction and goals.
Revenue Growth
- Drive strategies to increase cements and allied products sales, focusing on new business acquisition and customer retention.
- Implement dynamic sales plans based on market trends, customer needs, and competitive analysis.
- Oversee the acquisition of new customers and the implementation of retention initiatives.
Brand Management
- Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive brand strategies to maintain and enhance brand identity.
- Direct efforts in advertising, promotions, and public relations to ensure impactful campaigns.
Market Analysis and Adaptation
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities.
- Utilize data and market research to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure all sales and marketing strategies comply with corporate governance policies and procedures.
- Actively mitigate legal risks associated with advertising, promotions, and sales practices.
- Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations across all sales and marketing activities.
Technological Advancements
- Maximize the efficacy of sales and marketing operations using technological tools like CRM systems.
- Implement technological advancements to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Performance and Budget Management
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for both sales and marketing.
- Utilize performance metrics to assess the overall effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation to maximize ROI.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Foster collaboration between sales and marketing teams to ensure a unified approach.
- Mentor and develop the leadership team within the Sales and Marketing department.
- Promote a high-performance culture focused on achieving business goals.
Ethical Standards and Transparency
- Champion ethical practices across all sales and marketing activities, ensuring transparency and integrity.
- Implement policies and procedures to prevent fraud and maintain high ethical standards.
- Foster a culture of compliance with ethical guidelines and promote accountability within the department.
Internal Control and Risk Management
- Establish robust internal controls to prevent leakages and ensure financial integrity in sales and marketing operations.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to monitor compliance with internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks associated with sales and marketing activities.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Drive innovation in sales and marketing strategies and processes to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors.

System Policy and procedures
- Set clear guidelines for sales practices, customer interactions, data management, and the use of marketing materials.
- Ensure data security and set guidelines defining how customer data should be handled and protected.
Financial Management
- Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning of sales and marketing initiatives.
- Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and the competitive landscape to make informed decisions that will drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Set financial targets for the department and monitor performance against these targets to meet financial objectives of the organization.

Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Marketing, or a related field
Work Experience (Range of years):
- 20+ years of experience in sales and marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Industry Knowledge:
- Experience in the cement or manufacturing industry is highly preferred. Demonstrated success in leading large, diverse teams and managing multiple functions.
