About the Department

The Adams County Parks, Open Space and Cultural Arts Department seeks a candidate for a part-time temporary position to work directly with the Cultural Arts Division to bring the Department’s Vision – To significantly enhance quality of life, enrich communities & INSPIRE! – to life through the lens of arts and culture.


The Cultural Arts Assistant will perform a variety of professional duties and responsibilities to help execute countywide Public Art projects, with an opportunity to learn the inner workings of public art administration and community arts development.

Position Duties

  • Support the Cultural Arts Division to execute the Adams County Percentage for the Arts Program and Public Art projects, including project planning, development, and execution.
  • Assist with exhibit and project installations such as the Taza Gallery quarterly exhibition at the Adams County Government Center, and the Rotating Sculpture Program at the Human Services Center.
  • Assist in all efforts around artist Calls for Entry and the artist selection process, including evening meetings for Arts & Culture Commission and Artist Selection Panels.
  • Help organize and maintain the county art collection database and public art maps.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing community arts programming, artist workshops and performances, in connection with Public Art projects.
  • Assist in coordinating artist and studio visits, site walkthroughs, and various project meetings.
  • Help coordinate Cultural Arts marketing/outreach initiatives to support Public Art projects, including visual and written content for website, social media, newsletters, and signage.
  • Research local and regional artists and arts organizations for 2026/2027 planning and development.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Public art, project management, including basic design and construction processes.
  • Collections management and databases.
  • Exhibition planning and execution.
  • Community program development and event planning.  
  • Storytelling, communications, and community outreach.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and understanding of Adams County’s diverse communities and demonstrated ability to engage with and develop relationships with these communities.
  • Basic knowledge with Microsoft and Adobe software applications.
  • Skill in establishing, maintaining, and fostering positive and harmonious working relationships.
  • Willingness and ability to work select nights

Other Qualifications

  • Experience: Two years’ experience or education in Public Art Administration, or Arts-related field.
  • License or Certificate: Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work under high pressure situations.
