Role
The Actuarial Analyst will be involved in the development and testing of the calculations for several Life and Non-Life products across the UK market. The role would also involve comprehending regulations and updating a suite of spreadsheets to cater to the regulations, with the ability to build new ones as required
Responsibilities:
- Undertake software and calculation configuration activities using our in-house software packages
- Maintain and update the calculation system owned by the team
- Develop Python/Excel/VBA models for calculations post any regulatory changes or changes as desired by the client
- Translate calculation requirements into system change specifications for use by development teams
- Using SQL/Excel to prove changes have been developed to the spec
- Support clients through the lifecycle of the team’s activities, including design, test, and implementation
- Provide actuarial input for company-wide projects, driven by IT & Change or internally, impacting the existing book of business, including the specification, development, and implementation of solutions
- Undertake any other projects that evolve within the organisation
Qualifications:
- Actuarial Consulting, Actuarial Science, and Finance skills
- Analytical Skills and Statistics Skills
- Familiarity with insurance industry trends, regulations, and policies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Progress through actuarial exams is preferred
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office tool suite, including the latest versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and VBA
- Working knowledge of Python/any other coding language

- Great interpersonal skills - ability to converse with both internal and external customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication
