Role Description
Role Overview
The Active Directory Engineer is responsible for the design, administration, and optimization of the organization’s Active Directory (AD) environment. This role ensures a secure, stable, and high-performing identity and access management infrastructure across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Active Directory Domain Controllers, including installation, configuration, patching, and regular health checks
- Design and maintain Organizational Unit (OU) structures aligned with business and security requirements
- Develop, implement, and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for security, compliance, and system configuration
- Monitor AD health, replication, and performance across all domain controllers, ensuring high availability
- Administer user, group, and computer accounts, ensuring adherence to access control policies
- Provide L3 support and incident resolution for complex Active Directory-related issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to replication, DNS, authentication, and access
- Implement and maintain Active Directory security best practices, including least privilege, delegation, and auditing
- Support and contribute to AD-related projects such as migrations, upgrades, and domain consolidations
- Maintain accurate documentation of AD architecture, configurations, policies, and operational procedures
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong experience with Active Directory (AD DS)
- Proficiency in DNS (Domain Name System)
- Expertise in User and Access Management
- Hands-on experience with Group Policies (GPOs)
- Scripting knowledge using PowerShell
- Solid troubleshooting skills in identity and authentication systems
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure AD / Entra ID
- Knowledge of identity security best practices
- Exposure to hybrid environments
